Refund policy

Uma Fashion was built on a simple belief — that what you wear at home should be made as carefully as anything else you own. That same standard applies to how we handle every order, every return and every conversation with a customer. This policy exists not to protect us, but to be completely clear with you. Read it once. It will answer everything.

1. Order Processing & Shipping
At Uma Fashion, every order is treated with the same care and attention we put into our products. All orders are processed within 24–48 working hours of confirmed payment — a window that allows us to verify, inspect and package your order to the standard our customers expect. Working days exclude Sundays and public holidays recognised by the Government of India.

Once dispatched, full tracking details are shared with you immediately via registered email and SMS. We do not cut corners on this. Every order matters.

If we anticipate any delay beyond the standard processing window, we will notify you at least one working day in advance. Transparency is not optional at Uma Fashion — it is standard practice.
Shipping charges
  • Prepaid orders — Complimentary shipping. No additional charges.
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) orders — A handling charge of ₹100 applies.
While we partner with reliable logistics providers to ensure timely delivery, Uma Fashion cannot be held responsible for delays arising from courier disruptions, inaccurate address details, customer unavailability, adverse weather conditions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

2. Returns
We stand behind every product we make. In the rare instance that something does not meet your expectations, we have made the return process as straightforward as possible. We ask only that you follow the process carefully — it exists to protect your interests as much as ours.
How to initiate a return
  • Email info@umafashion.com within 48 hours of delivery
  • Use the subject line: "Return Request – [Order ID]"
  • Include your Order ID, a detailed description of the concern and clear supporting photographs of the product and its packaging
  • An unboxing video may be requested in cases involving damage or manufacturing defects — we appreciate your cooperation in such instances
For a return to be considered eligible, the product must meet all of the following conditions:
  • Unused, unworn and unwashed in every respect
  • Entirely free from stains, odours, perfume or any indication of use
  • Returned in its original condition with all tags, labels, size stickers and packaging fully intact
  • Accompanied by a copy of the original purchase invoice
Please note: Products returned with signs of wear, washing, damage, ironing or alteration will be deemed ineligible upon inspection and returned to the customer. Uma Fashion reserves sole discretion in the approval or rejection of all return requests following quality inspection.
Return logistics:
  • Customers may self-ship the product at their own cost and responsibility
  • Alternatively, a reverse pickup may be arranged at a charge of ₹150, subject to serviceability in your pin code area. Pickup is scheduled within 24–48 working hours of approval.

3. Exchange Policy
Uma Fashion offers a structured exchange mechanism for size-related concerns, verified manufacturing defects or instances of incorrect product delivery. We have designed this process to be clear, fair and efficient for all parties involved.
Step Action
01 Email care@umafashion.com within 24–72 hours of delivery with your Order ID, reason for exchange, clear photographs and a copy of your invoice.
02 Our team will review your request and respond with an approval or rejection within 2 working days.
03 Upon approval, return the product unused, with all original tags and packaging intact, within 3 calendar days.
04 Returned products undergo a thorough quality inspection within 3 working days of receipt.
05 Upon successful inspection, your exchange or store credit will be processed within 7–10 working days.
Exchange conditions:
  • Only one exchange is permitted per order — no exceptions
  • Exchanges are subject to stock availability at the time of processing
  • Where the requested size or variant is unavailable, a store credit equivalent to the product value will be issued, valid for 90 days from the date of issuance
Sale, promotional & discounted items
  • Eligible for exchange only — monetary refunds do not apply
  • Subject to stock availability at the time of the exchange request
  • Orders placed using discount codes are governed by the same terms

4. Non-Returnable & Non-Exchangeable Conditions
Uma Fashion maintains uncompromising quality standards. To protect the integrity of our products and the fairness of our process, the following conditions render a product ineligible for return or exchange:
  • Return or exchange request raised beyond the stipulated timeframe
  • Product shows any signs of wear, washing, ironing, perfume application or alteration
  • Original tags, labels, size stickers or packaging have been removed or damaged
  • Product has been mishandled, cut, torn, stained or exposed to chemicals or water
  • Multiple exchange requests raised against the same order
  • Product forms part of a clearance, final sale or non-returnable category at the time of purchase
  • Original purchase invoice is not included with the return
Important: Any product received by Uma Fashion in violation of the above conditions will be returned to the customer without a refund, credit note or replacement. No exceptions will be made.

5. Cancellations
We begin processing orders promptly. Cancellation requests must therefore be submitted on the same day of placement, provided the order has not yet entered processing or dispatch.
  • Email info@umafashion.com with your Order ID at the earliest opportunity
  • Once an order has entered processing or been dispatched, cancellation is no longer possible
  • Refunds for successfully cancelled prepaid orders will be credited to the original payment method within 5–7 working days

6. Refunds
Refunds at Uma Fashion are governed by a clear and consistent framework. A refund will be initiated only under the following circumstances:
  • A return has been approved following quality inspection
  • A prepaid order has been successfully cancelled prior to dispatch
  • A verified defective or incorrect product has been delivered and exchange is not feasible
Refund timeline
  • Quality inspection completed within 2–3 working days of receiving the returned product
  • If approved, refund initiated within 6–8 working days thereafter
  • Total processing timeline may extend to 10–12 working days from the date of return pickup
Refund method:
  • Prepaid orders — refunded to the original payment method
  • COD orders — refunded via bank transfer upon receipt and verification of valid bank details
COD handling fees (₹100) and reverse pickup charges (₹150) are non-refundable under all circumstances. Products purchased during sale events, promotional campaigns or with discount codes are not eligible for monetary refunds. Store credit will be issued in such cases.

7. Store Credit & Promo Code
Where a monetary refund is not applicable, Uma Fashion issues a store credit in the form of a unique, non-transferable promo code equivalent to the value of the returned product. This credit reflects our commitment to ensuring that no eligible customer leaves a transaction without a fair resolution.
  • Valid for 90 days from the date of issuance — no extensions will be granted
  • Non-transferable, single-use and cannot be combined with any other promotional offer
  • Redeemable exclusively on the official Uma Fashion website
  • No residual balance will be carried forward if the order value is less than the promo code value
  • Where the order value exceeds the promo code value, the balance must be settled separately
  • Expired, unused or lost promo codes will not be reissued or extended under any circumstances

8. Customised Products
Every customised order at Uma Fashion is made specifically for you. Given the bespoke nature of these products, the following terms apply without exception:
  • Customised orders are accepted on a prepaid basis only — Cash on Delivery is not available
  • Once payment is confirmed, the order is considered final and binding
  • Customised orders cannot be cancelled, modified or altered once production has commenced
  • Customers are strongly advised to review all customisation specifications carefully prior to order confirmation
Customised products are not eligible for return, refund or exchange on the following grounds:
  • Incorrect size selection by the customer
  • Errors in customer-provided specifications
  • Dissatisfaction with design outcome
In the event of a verified manufacturing defect or a demonstrable mismatch with the submitted specifications, a replacement may be offered at the sole discretion of Uma Fashion.

9. Wrong Item Delivered
In the unlikely event that an incorrect item is delivered — whether in size, colour, design or product type — Uma Fashion will take full responsibility for rectifying the error at no cost to the customer.
  • Raise a request within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs of the product, packaging and invoice
  • Upon verification, Uma Fashion will arrange return logistics and dispatch the correct item or issue a store credit of equivalent value
  • No additional charges will be levied on the customer in such cases

10. Combo & Bundled Orders
Partial returns on combo or bundled purchases are not accepted unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of purchase. The bundle is treated as a single transaction for the purposes of this policy.

11. Product Appearance
Uma Fashion takes great care in presenting our products as accurately as possible. However, minor variations in colour or finish may occur as a result of screen calibration, photographic lighting or display settings. These variations are inherent to digital commerce and shall not be treated as defects or grounds for return or refund.

12. Failed Deliveries & Return to Origin
Customers are responsible for ensuring that accurate and complete delivery details are provided at the time of placing an order.
  • Orders returned due to an incorrect address, customer unavailability or refusal of delivery will be classified as Return to Origin (RTO)
  • Repeated refusals may result in the restriction of Cash on Delivery on the customer's account

13. Cash on Delivery Orders
Selecting Cash on Delivery constitutes a commitment to receive and pay for the order upon delivery. Uma Fashion takes refused COD deliveries seriously. Refusal of a COD order may result in:
  • Permanent restriction of the COD payment option on the customer's account
  • A requirement to place all future orders on a prepaid basis
  • Recovery of applicable logistics costs

14. Order Verification & Fraud Prevention
Uma Fashion reserves the right to verify the authenticity of any order prior to processing. Orders that cannot be verified may be cancelled. Where a prepaid order is cancelled on these grounds, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method.

15. Grievance Redressal
In accordance with Rule 4(1) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, Uma Fashion has established a formal grievance redressal mechanism. We are committed to resolving every concern with fairness, speed and transparency.
Our commitment to you
  • All grievances will be acknowledged within 48 hours of submission
  • We aim to resolve all complaints within 15 working days of receipt
  • Where additional time is required, you will be kept fully informed of the timeline and progress

16. Force Majeure
Uma Fashion shall not be held liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government directives, logistics disruptions, civil unrest or pandemic-related restrictions.

17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.

18. Policy Updates
Uma Fashion reserves the right to amend, revise or update this Policy at any time. All changes will take effect immediately upon publication on our official website. Continued use of the platform following any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage customers to review this Policy periodically.
